24 to return to TV for new series set in London – Daily TV round-up

Kiefer Sutherland's counter-terrorist agent Jack Bauer is to return to screens for a new series of '24' which will be set in London.

Called '24: Live Another Day', it will be set four years after the action of the eighth season of the show, which aired in 2010 and culminated with Bauer on the run and on the wrong side of the law.

However, the new series will run for just 12 episodes, rather than the usual 24.

“‘24’ has always had such a global sensibility,” said Sutherland, who is also an executive producer on the series.

“But to be able to tell this intense ‘24’-style story with the beauty of Europe’s history and architecture as the backdrop is going to be fascinating. Hopefully, by the time you’re finished watching an episode, you’ll feel like you’ve been there… on the edge of your seat.”

Added co-showrunner Manny Coto: “Jack is soon back on the run and it takes us into the streets of London and in places that break new ground for the show.

“We’ve shot in New York, Washington, Los Angeles and Cape Town — but now we’re in London and Jack’s loose on the streets of Europe, hunted by and hunting bad guys.”

The show comes following aborted attempts to make a feature-length movie from the Emmy-winning franchise.

It will hit screens in summer 2014 on the Fox network.
U say? I can't wait...Tactical stuffs
